Question is about softness when wearing. How is it on the inside? I have a whole bunch of Land's End khakis which were soft on the inside and outside. Ones I have bought more recently have a very nice feel on the outside but a burlap feel on the inside. These current ones have been washed inside out for almost a year and has been no help.

How are the Bill's in that respect? And should I be leaning towards the chamois version for a good soft tropical weather pant?

They are the same in and out. Some of mine have pockets made of the main material too. Next pair will be sunwashed twills, available direct from Bills. I have seen them in person, and they are a nice light twill, you may like them. Their poplins are a little wanting, in my opinion. Chamois are alright, cotton gabs are nice and "dressy", as far as that goes...
