UK Specific question, Johnsons cleaners alterations dept.
As some of our UK members may be aware, Johnson's the dry cleaners have an alterations division too.
Whilst I have used these for simple alterations, ie taking up trousers, moving buttons, etc. I do not know what they would be like for more complicated work.
Can anyone shed any light on whether they are capable of more complicated tailoring, and if they are, how good is their work?
Still learning, and striving to look my best in good casual clothes.Join DateMay 2nd, 2012LocationManchester, EnglandPosts3,396

They are unused to the expectations of people who truly care about how the results might look. Consider enquiring at the menswear department within the best quality store you have locally as to where they send their own alterations (they should not mind at all sharing this information with you) and go there.

Thank you Shaver.
My usual go to tailor is Brigdens of Derby, who have their own in house tailoring department.
Normally they only tailor their own purchases, but as a regular customer I can have items bought elswhere altered there albeit at a price.
(I'm afraid as good as they are, they are not the cheapest around)
I was curious as to whether it would be a viable alternative to have clothing tailored elsewhere.
