I will apologize in advance: this should go in "women's."

Where in Memphis, apart from the department stores, should my wife go this weekend to look for a dress for a black-tie affair? I never went dress shopping when I lived there.

Oak Hall

Celery on Brookhaven Circle may or may not be there and they were a high end consignment shop

Josephs in Laurelwood, which is where James Davis is.

Maybe Ella in the Chickasaw Oaks plaza which is on Poplar just west of East High School. They have a few other nice stores there but I dont know about formal dresses for a black tie.

Southern Couture which is adjacent to Oak Hall but the dresses may not be formal enough.

Titus, my wife thinks that Nashville shopping is much better. At least for women. I still think Memphis and Knoxville beat Nashville for the finer men's offerings, though having Nordstroms come in raised the bar. My wife prefers Greenhills and those shops where Five Guys is located. Also the TJ Maxx in Brentwood has more upscale stuff than we ever saw in one of those stores! Then its off to Valentinos or the Tin Angel or Germantown Cafe!
